Attorney Lucas Fuksa engages in the practice of business transactions, construction law, and commercial litigation. Lucas graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana and obtained his juris doctorate from the University of Illinois College of Law. After law school, Lucas started with the firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLC, where he worked in the Tax and Legal Services division. He later joined the law firm of Franks, Gerkin & McKenna, P.C. applying his skills to a wide range of legal tasks. In 2006, Lucas and his partner started Fuksa Khorshid, LLC where he now focuses his efforts on catering to the various needs of his business and construction clients.
Lucas has excelled in a variety of areas of the law. He has collected millions of dollars for contractors through aggressive mechanics lien litigation, executed the merger of a Florida and Pennsylvania hotel corporation, handled the purchase and sale of a retail shopping center, successfully defended one of the nation’s largest insurance companies in a policy coverage dispute, and represented international companies with trade contracts and joint venture agreements.
Lucas is a member of the American Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Council on Global Affairs, Association of Subcontractors and Affiliates, Polish American Chamber of Commerce, and Polish American Contractors and Builders Association. He is fluent in both Polish and Spanish.
